Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Khatam. We've kept them short and readable. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them.

Last updated 13 June 2026

1. Use of the app

Khatam is provided for your personal, non-commercial use to track your own Quran reading. Please don't reverse-engineer, decompile, resell, or redistribute the app, or use it in any way that breaks the law or infringes others' rights.

2. Purchases

Khatam is a one-time purchase on the App Store. There are no subscriptions and no in-app purchases. All payments, refunds, and restores are handled by Apple under the terms of your Apple Account and the App Store. Refund requests are subject to Apple's policies.

3. Your data

All of your reading logs, goals, and settings are stored on your device and, if you enable it, in your own private iCloud. We do not access, store, or retain your content. You are responsible for keeping your own backups; the in-app JSON export exists for exactly this. See our Privacy Policy for details.

4. Intellectual property

The Khatam app, its name, design, artwork, and text are protected by intellectual property laws and remain ours. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from them without our written permission. The app contains no Quran text; you read from your own mushaf or another source.

5. Disclaimers

Khatam is a reading tracker provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. It is a personal organisational tool, not a source of religious rulings or scholarly guidance. Page-to-juz boundaries are exact for the standard Madani (604-page) mushaf and approximate for custom editions, as noted in the app. Always rely on your own mushaf and qualified scholarship for matters of the Quran.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for Khatam.

7. Termination

You may stop using Khatam at any time by deleting it, which removes the data stored on that device. We may discontinue the app or suspend access if these terms are violated.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts, except where local consumer law grants you additional rights.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Updates take effect when posted on this page, and the “Last updated” date will change. Continuing to use the app means you accept the revised terms.
